Poterie LM Serafin Pottery

Updated: March 6, 2024

Do you have cabin fever? Are you looking for an enriching experience? Why not come by for a pottery lesson and get your hands dirty?

The first class is a special introductory price of just $85 for a 2 hour block of time, all materials, firing fees, and taxes included! We’ll work on a hand building project that will be relaxing and maybe even therapeutic. Book your class today by calling me at 819-281-3307.

Plan to attend Peabody Farm Easter Market in Venosta, QC on Saturday, March 30 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Peabody Farm Markets are extra special. There is a wonderful bonfire outside to warm you from the spring chill. There are donkeys and pigs running around. There is hot food served from morning through lunch. There are amazing vendors offering unique and beautiful hand crafted items, and there is a band playing in the loft! It’s an experience you will want to repeat every Easter (and Christmas!). See you at Peabody on March 30.

Spring at Poterie LM Serafin Pottery
This year marks my 21st year in business! It’s such a delight to meet new people in the neighbourhood, or people passing through on their way to another part of beautiful Quebec. The local jewel of Mayo, Forêt la Blanche, is close by if you are looking for a hiking experience. Hiking and shopping for pottery afterwards? What could be better?

Stop in for a chat and a tour and see what I’m up to!
Currently I’m busy restocking soup bowls and Pho bowls. I sold my last teapot in December so I’ll be busy restocking teapots in all sizes too. Once leaves appear in the spring I will be making more hand built leaf bowls and platters.

Poterie LM Serafin Pottery is open almost any time you need it to be opened!  My “regular” hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 10 – 5, but I can be flexible.

The pottery is opened by appointment year-round and is just 45 minutes from downtown Ottawa, and 20 minutes from downtown Buckingham, QC.  For the best pieces, best prices, discounted seconds and special orders, a visit to the gallery in Mayo is a must.

“I have had the pleasure of meeting this lovely artist only once, but have purchased many of her pieces over the last few years. She has created pieces for me on request as well. I love the textures and colours of every piece created. Her glaze techniques and choices are always exquisite. I have a lot of pottery, but the works of this artist are my treasures.”

Shopping
#1
Shop in person at the gallery in Mayo – The gallery is located in Mayo, QC which is 45 minutes from downtown Ottawa, and 20 minutes from Buckingham.  The drive is gorgeous any time of year, and all of the roads that lead to the pottery are well maintained in the winter months. Mayo’s jewel is Forêt la Blanche Ecological Reserve. Why not come out for a hike and visit the pottery too?

Buy “online” via email conversation with the artist –
This website is not set up for commerce yet, but if you have a few minutes, all you need to do is drop me a line at LM@LMSerafin.com asking about whatever it is you’d like to purchase. I can send you suggestions and photos and we’ll make it happen. I accept payments by eTransfer, but also accept PayPal with 5% user fee.

IMPORTANT:

Buyer pays shipping.  All packages shipped within Canada are insured for loss.
In some cases I may be able to deliver your pottery to the following areas: Mayo, Mulgrave, Thurso, L’Ange Gardien, Buckingham, Gatineau, and Ottawa for a small delivery fee.
All packages are shipped Canada Post. Canada Post is the least expensive way for me to ship your purchases.
All of the pottery made at LM Serafin Pottery is food safe. No lead has been used in the glazes.
The clay used is stoneware and fired to a high (2300 F) temperature. Stoneware is durable, but still needs care (SEE How to Care for your Pottery in the menu above).
All of LM Serafin pottery should be hand-washed.
It can be used in the microwave.
You can put it in a warming oven.
The pottery is not cookware.
Automatic dishwashing NOT recommended! It wears the glazes down, and after a few years of regular auto dish washing they look dull and feel tacky because the soap isn’t soap. It’s abrasive material designed to scratch the food from your dishes.

The Pottery is opened by appointment year round. You can call before coming or risk taking a chance. Please call 819-281-3307 to make an appointment.
