Welcome! Bienvenue!
Poterie LM Serafin Pottery
#dishesdesignedwithfoodinmind

This morning I woke to mist on the lake and frost on the grass.
It’s officially mug season ☕ and I’ve got plenty to go around!
While the days are getting shorter and I’m trading in my tee shirts for sweaters,
Holiday Markets are now lined up and I hope to see you at one (or more!) of them soon.

HOLDAY MARKETS

🛍️ November 1 – All Saints Craft Fair
5115 Kanata Ave., Kanata, ON K2K 3K5
10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
All Saints is massive and absolutely packed with beautiful handmade goods. It’s well worth a few hours to wander, shop, and discover treasures!

🎨 November 16 – La Fab Fine Arts & Crafts Holiday Market
8 Chemin Mill, Chelsea, QC J9B 1K8
10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Set in a charming old church, La Fab is a lively, bustling market. Vendors fill both the main hall and the upstairs gallery. Get there early for the best finds!

🐷 November 22 – Peabody Farm Christmas Market
26 Chemin Sullivan, Venosta, QC J0X 3E0
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
A family favorite! Peabody Farm offers fine crafts, and farm-fresh goods like eggs, honey, and locally raised pork and beef. There are donkeys, pigs, a warm fire, and even a bluegrass band — a perfect way to soak up that community spirit.

🏡 And finally… My own Holiday Pottery Sale
December 6 & 7
Save the date! More details to come, but this will be your last chance this year to shop directly from my studio and see my entire body of work (not JUST the 3 boxes I pack for a show). Come visit me in the studio and see all the new pieces I’ve been creating this season. This is a great opportunity to shop directly from my collection in a warm and cozy environment without the retail noise.

OTHER AMAZING STUFF
I’m currently offering private pottery coaching, as well as one-on-one lessons and pottery workshops. Whether you’re a beginner wanting to get your hands muddy or a returning potter looking to deepen your skills, let’s work together! You can buy lessons for that special artist in your life as a holiday gift. That special someone could be YOU!

!! Mug Subscriptions Are On Hold For Now !!
Pottery subscriptions are a new way to collect handmade pottery throughout the year—one piece per season, made especially for you, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I will have to put these subscriptions on hold for now. If you’re looking into the future for such a wonderful way to get pottery 4 times a year, you can find all the details here.

Thanks for stopping by. Here’s to sweater weather and hot beverages!

At Poterie LM Serafin Pottery you will find…
Finely crafted stoneware pottery for every day living.  I make functional pottery like mugs, bowls, teapots and serving dishes. I’m influenced by the forest that surrounds me and the lake on which I live.
You will also find me…in the studio, usually with a muddy apron on. You’ll find that I care a lot about the people who buy my pottery and the experience my customers have with the pots I make. My goal is to make sure that you are satisfied with every purchase.

The local jewel of Mayo, Forêt la Blanche, is close by if you are looking for a hiking experience. Hiking and shopping for pottery afterwards? What could be better?

Stop in for a chat and a tour and see what’s happening in the workshop.

You can now find a small selection of my pottery in Buckingham at Saisonnia. Saisonnia is located at 490 Avenue de Buckingham.

Poterie LM Serafin Pottery is open almost any time you need it to be opened!
Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. by appointment only. If you would like to come before or after these times, please call and make a request.

The pottery is opened by appointment year-round and is just 45 minutes from downtown Ottawa, and 20 minutes from downtown Buckingham, QC.  For the best pieces, best prices, discounted seconds and special orders, a visit to the gallery in Mayo is a must.

“I have had the pleasure of meeting this lovely artist only once, but have purchased many of her pieces over the last few years. She has created pieces for me on request as well. I love the textures and colours of every piece created. Her glaze techniques and choices are always exquisite. I have a lot of pottery, but the works of this artist are my treasures.”

All of the pottery made at LM Serafin Pottery is food safe. No lead has been used in the glazes.
The clay used is stoneware and fired to a high (2300 F) temperature. Stoneware is durable, but still needs care (SEE How to Care for your Pottery in the menu above).
All of LM Serafin pottery should be hand-washed.
It can be used in the microwave.
You can put it in a warming oven.
The pottery is not cookware.
Automatic dishwashing NOT recommended! It wears the glazes down, and after a few years of regular auto dish washing they look dull and feel tacky because the soap isn’t soap. It’s abrasive material designed to scratch the food from your dishes.
