Private Lessons<\/h2>\n

What’s the difference between lessons and workshops<\/a>?
\n<\/strong>Lessons are regularly scheduled while a workshop is a one time event. I teach a syllabus that is dedicated to learning techniques that will give you a good foundation in pottery. In a workshop we work on one specific technique\/project from start to finish in one block of time.<\/p>\n

All lessons are private, so it’s one on one. \u00a0When students are taught this way, they learn more quickly because the teacher’s attention is solely on the one student.<\/p>\n

*Students must wear a mask if they work closely with the public, or schools, or if they have been exposed to someone who is\/was sick. N95 masks double as a dust mask.<\/p>\n

What type of classes are offered?
\n<\/strong>We begin with hand building, and then I will introduce you to the potter’s wheel. You will also receive lessons in decorating and glazing your pieces.<\/p>\n

Hand building techniques to begin your journey in pottery are essential to a well rounded clay education.\u00a0 Hand built forms include creating pottery using pinch pots, slabs and coils.<\/p>\n

Your introduction to the wheel begins with cylinders and then bowls. You will learn how to throw these forms first and you will also learn how to trim a foot ring for these pieces.<\/p>\n

\nClass Length – 8 weeks, 2.5 hours\u00a0<\/strong>per week<\/b>
\nCost: $100.00 per class ($800 in total) <\/strong>which includes ALL materials, glazes and firing of your pieces.
\nSkill level needed:<\/strong> No skills needed.<\/p>\n

My studio is located in Mayo, QC, about 20 minutes from Buckingham and about 45 minutes downtown Ottawa.<\/p>\n

*NOTE* There is no public transportation to Mayo. \u00a0You must drive or have someone drive you to and from your lessons.<\/strong><\/p>\n
